Kampala, Uganda - A team from Young Engineers Uganda has visited Kampala Quality Primary School, north of Kampala City, in a bid to establish a partnership. The team that visited the school today, February 5, 2025, also comprised the Young Engineers CEO Ms Maureen Karamagi, Head of Curriculum Ms. Allen Nanyonjo and three StEM Education coaches. Kampala Quality School, a day programme primary school, and is host to over 1200 children. The leader of the delegation and Young Engineers Uganda founder Mr. Arinaitwe Rugyendo said the aim of the visit was to introduce the edutainment and innovative STEM and Robotics program to the school. Young Engineers is a flagship STEM Education programme of the African School of Innovations Science and Technology (ASIST) Ltd. It was established in Uganda in 2016 to nurture the next generation of Ugandan scientists, innovators, creative thinkers and problem solvers using a robotics and LEGO curriculum to augment the teaching of science and maths as well as prepare kids for the Competence Based Curriculum currently prominent in the ordinary level secondary education. The team was warmly received by Eng Agaba Keneth, Chief Operations Manager at the school, who expressed enthusiasm for the program. “We are thrilled to learn about the STEM and Robotics education offered by Young Engineers Uganda," said Eng. Agaba.

“This program has the potential to inspire and equip our young learners with essential skills for the future," he added“

During the presentation, coaches showcased the projects that students on the programme have been building and implored the school administration to take adopt the programme in order to give the children practical implementation skills at an early stage of their educational journey. “We are excited about the possibility of working with Kampala Quality Primary School and look forward to the opportunity to collaborate," said Mr. Rugyendo. “Our STEM and Robotics program is designed to nurture the next generation of scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, problem-solvers, and critical thinkers,” he added. Eng. Agaba promised to discuss the program with the school administration and explore possibilities for collaboration. Young Engineers Uganda is a flagship program of African School of Innovations Science and Technology (ASIST) Ltd, a STEM and robotics organization in Uganda. The program aims to nurture the next generation of scientists, innovators, problem solvers, entrepreneurs, and critical thinkers from the age of 4-17 years.

The programme was founded in 2016 by journalist and entrepreneur Arinaitwe Rugyendo. Young Engineers Uganda aims to expand STEM and robotics education across the country and believes that every child deserves access to quality STEM education.
