Young Engineers Set a New African Record in Senegal

A team of young Ugandan engineers has made history at the Pan-African Robotics Championship in Senegal, returning home with continental honours and a new record for the country.

The CyberKnights team placed second overall against fierce competition from across the continent, while the RoboPanthers walked away with the Rising Star Award — a recognition of the most promising newcomers at the championship.

"These students represent the very best of what is possible when talent meets opportunity," said an ASIST coach who travelled with the delegation. "They built, they debugged, they presented — and they did it under enormous pressure, on a continental stage."

The result is the latest milestone in a remarkable run for Ugandan robotics, and a powerful signal to schools across the country that world-class STEM achievement is within reach.
